Going with the Flooow... FInd me on WordPress

Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.

Well kids, its been a most interesting year so far! Record numbers of earthquakes, tornadoes and storms, strange sounds coming from the earth and space, animals dieing off en mass and that's just the beginning. Banking systems and the housing market, health care reform and social discord, families, governments and countries and  are all on the brink of major change. So why would little ol' me, and little ol' you, be any different?

I started this blog as a place-keeper for some recorded conference calls. What I discovered along the way was something absolutely amazing that has changed my life forever. I discovered a platform through which I could reach the whole world and through which the whole world could reach back to me. As if that wasn't wonderful enough, I also found a venue through which the mysterious may work and give means for my words to find the people who need them the most. The experience has been most rewarding BUT it's time to move on.

My personal motto is Flooow.  For so many years I struggled  against The Flow only to find my freedom to be meshed directly into practice of acceptance. So, to make a long story short, Flooow is on the move and you can find the NEW "just a thought" blog at the link below. I'm looking forward to a new adventure cuz life is never boring when your living, really living, in The Floooow!!

Close Your Eyes

The teacher who is indeed wise does not bid you to enter the house of his wisdom but rather leads you to the threshold of your mind.       Khalil Gibran

We've all heard stories about people who lose one sense and find the other senses become stronger. Someone may lose their sight, for example, and find their sense of hearing becomes more acute. If we take this idea one step further we can begin to understand why the ancient masters taught about the advantage of annihilating the ego and information taken in from our 5 senses. The lesson was to learn to rely on the knowing, the senses that comes from within.
Science tells us that what we see is an illusion. We have a blind spot we never "see" because our minds just fills in the gap as though it never existed. Information taken into the eye is acutally upside down but our minds "correct" that for us as well. Nothing in the universe actually touches so we know our "sense" of touch is an illusion and onjects that appear solid are really not there. To top it all off, 99% of the universe is invisible, not "real" yet we call the .01% reality.
I don't think we can escape the fact that infomation taken in through the senses is faulty or, at the very least, skewed. So how do we come to find Truth? Just close your eyes! Close off the information taken in through your 5 senses. Close off all the details of the world that confuse the mind and sit in the center of your knowing. The answers come from within; they are written there, waiting to be discovered and all we have to do is listen with ears that hear.

Willpower Message

In a gentle way, you can shake the world.
Mohandas Gandhi

Posing a question for my mind to solve while dreaming is an exercise I have practiced for nearly 20 years. I received a message the other night that is so profound and perfect that I can find no way to improve on it. So I decided to simply share it with you. The question I posed is, "Why do so many struggle with what we know as willpower?"

"Strength is disrupted by the psyche's pressing need to free itself from being identified with the material and the physical. The True Self wants, and needs, to be free to think and experience the archetypal mind for it knows this is the only way to know itself as infinite potential."

Balancing Act

Happiness is not a matter of intensity but of balance, order, rhythm and harmony.
Thomas Merton

When I look back 20 years, as I must in 2012, there are so many remarkable things... it's sometimes hard to focus in on the big-picture evolution of my life. But as I watch my son grow, I see the parallels, the universality of life, forever unfolding before me. If you ever feel lost in your quest for clarity, look to those you hold most closely to you. "They" will show you everything you need.
Shaun, like his mother, doesn't like to be told what to do. He, like his mother, needs time to connect with life and feels the demands of the world pull him away from that. As a result, he resists the demands without realizing that life without a certain amount of demands is uncomfortable as well. This is something he KNOWS, like his mother, but sometimes fails to remember when the demands of the day come knocking on his door.
Life is about balance; knowing your comfort zone and knowing when you must move past it; knowing your limitations and choosing to grow anyway. The trick with demands is knowing how to present them, to the mind and into our lives. We CAN choose to create demands that bring us joy, things we want to do, love to do,  instead of things we "have" to do. Balance is found in the process of learning how to know the difference.

Namaste!
