Warriors

                                        Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak;
courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.
                                                                Winston Churchill

I was approached a while ago and asked if I supported the war. I had to be honest and say no. I was then reprimanded to not supporting the troops and the scolding became so heated, I found it difficult to not interrupt. " I have the utmost respect for the soldiers who fight in the war", I said when finally given the opportunity to speak. "I revere warriors and hold them in the highest esteem. I think what they do is awe-inspiring and I am very grateful. But there's something I do not understand so perhaps you can help me. Can you please tell me why you believe the warriors are the war? I support the warriors but I do not support war. Why can this not be so?" To this, I received a blank stare.
I hope I do not offend anyone by posting this blog today but I'd like to say thank you to all the warriors of the world. Not just the men and women who fight for freedom but also the all mothers and fathers, husbands and wives and children. Thank you and may peace and Light be with you always.

Remembrance

Forgetfulness is exile; remembrance is redemption           The Baal Shem Tov

I still remember the feeling I had when I read the first book that placed me on this path nearly 20 years ago. It was the most bizarre feeling. It was as if I already knew it. Friends came over the next day and asked me how I learned all this "stuff" overnight, and I cried. "I don't know! I just know it. It's like I'm remembering what I've always known but didn't know I knew and I didn't know I forgot. I just don't know!!" And I cried more.
Remembrance is something that's taught by many ancient philosophies.  Kabbalists teach that we must recall our transcendental selves because we lose our sense of Self & Purpose when we forget that we are divine beings having a physical experience and not the other way around.
Now, in my practice, I say I help people remember what they already know. When I ask people to tell me the answer, what's right for them, they say "I don't know". And I say, with all the confidence in the world, "Yes, you do!" No one else in this world knows what's best for you than YOU. We want desperately for someone to tell us what to do, what's right for us. There's a reason the Truth is written within: because then you will never forget it!

Remember who you really are. Remember you are divine, immortal Light, born from the stars.
Remember every day and don't ever forget!

Sacrifice

"Besides the noble art of getting things done, there is the noble art of leaving things undone.
The wisdom of life consists in the elimination of non-essentials."
 Lin Yutang

Bruce Lipton's book, Spontaneous Evolution, talks about the evolution of our belief systems, as a humanity, and how we have come to believe in things that are not Truth. I learned this lesson a few years ago when I was forced to examine my beliefs about sacrifice. There was a time that we believed it was right to sacrifice animals, sometimes even human beings, to God. We have now evolved to a place where we understand that God doesn't need this from us. It seems barbaric and absurd that anyone would think God NEEDED that from us. It intrigues me to that I need to be reminded that we will continue to evolve, as whole beings, and not just physical bodies
When I went through my lessons about sacrifice, I realized that I held a belief that sacrifice for others is always "good/right". I was reminded of my son, 11 years old and autistic, learning to tie his shoes. Shaun hated to tie his shoes, asks me to do it for him, says "bad Mama" when I refuse to do it for him. It would be SO easy to step in, alleviate his struggle, get it done, and not have to deal with the emotion that arises when he says I'm being "bad" when I don't help him.
But I believe I should feel guilty FOR helping him because I know he is capable  If I rush in to help, am I not giving him the message that it IS too hard for him. Am I not giving him the message that he is not able, disabled, which is the label society has put on him. I don't want to project that onto him because I DON'T believe it! But the FEELING was painful for me.
People may tell us we're "bad" for not helping them. But what if someone throws themselves down the stairs, breaks both their legs, asks you for help, then pokes you in the eye with a stick when you try to help them? What if you tell them to stop poking you but they do it anyway and then tell you "you're bad" for not helping them? Discernment is, again, the answer. There is no blanket statement of Truth.  EVERYTHING is Relative! Which means it's ALL YOURS, OURS to create!!

The Power of Belief

"Great beginnings are not as important as the way one finishes."           Dr. James Dobson

If power is defined as "one's ability to act", how many times today have you given up your power? How many times, every day, do you choose NOT to act, for one reason or another. If you're anything like me, you may be painfully unaware of the habitual choice to be a victim to your own thoughts, feelings and limitations that stop you from creating the life you dream of living.
If someone told you there was a million dollars in the back yard, would you try to dig it up? Would you say "I don't believe" it's there? And even if you doubted, would you not dig for it anyway? Why do we choose not to exercise, meditate, eat well, relax? What stops us from doing the things that we know are good for us, make us feel better and get us to where we want to go?
When I ask people this question, the first response is that they are lazy. I don't buy lazy. If we BELIEVED we could have the bodies we want, the relationship, the bank accounts, the world, I think we'd go for it! So the real question is do you believe, embrace and use your personal power with intent?

You have the ability to act, therefore YOU ARE POWERFUL!

Don't Be Afraid

"Without courage, wisdom bears no fruit."          Baltasar Gracian

Lots of people are talking about the Mayan prophecy and 2012. The first thing I'd like to say about that is that anyone who says the Mayans are predicting "the end", doesn't know much about the Mayan calendar. Because it's ROUND. There is no end, only cycles. A very old, very wise grandmother once taught me that death and re-birth happen at exactly the same moment. After 20 years of observation,  I believe she is correct.
Don Alejandro is the leader, or at least the spokesperson, for the 44 existing tribes of Maya. In his 2007 message he said two things: stop raping the Earth and "don't be afraid". It's fear that is going to cause problems, as always, for most people. If you think about the Emotion Molecule and the fact that neuro-science is telling us that up up 95% of all illness is caused by emotion and thought life, this statement becomes very profound and very powerful. Fear, if you think about it, is the cause for much that is going "wrong" on our planet right now. War, disease, hunger, poverty, the lack of balance and inner peace, high divorce rates are all symptoms of fear.
Someone once said that F.E.A.R. is an acronym for False Evidence Appearing Real. I'm convinced we just need to learn to practice discernment. I have a great respect for the power of water, but I don't have to fear it.

Open Hearts

"Many people die with their music still in them "                       Oliver Wendell Holmes

People tell me they are afraid of other people's judgement when, in reality, they are afraid of their own judgement. People tell me they afraid to fail when I know they are really afraid to succeed. People tell me they are afraid of the unknown even when they see the "known" as painful and not where they want to be. People tell me all kind s of things but their hearts tell me only one thing: "I want to be loved"
The hearts of humanity, or at least the men and women I've encountered in the past 20 years, tell me they are afraid. They are afraid to be powerful because being a victim is much easier but, more importantly, because they lack the belief that it could be any different. We are too afraid to look at what COULD be because the thought of living without it is far too difficult to bear.
The hearts of mankind are closed but not because we lack the capacity for love. In fact, nothing could be farther from the truth. The capacity of the human heart is remarkable, boundless, awe-inspiring and powerful. I believe the hearts of mankind are closed because we are afraid, we lack trust. We lack trust in our Selves. We lack trust in our Gods. We lack trust because we don't FEEL loved when love is THE only thing we truly desire.Have you ever noticed that when people speak of love, they usually speak of their love for things, or people or whatever. They rarely speak of being loved. It is not that love is lacking in the world, but that we are all too afraid to give it, and even more afraid receive it. All that is need to heal the world of pain, poverty and hardship is an open heart and it begins with yours.

Soul of the World

    "Wisdom begins in wonder."          Socrates

Plato coined the term "anima mundi", or Soul of the World. Just as a human soul animates the physical body, he believed that there is a universal soul, a conscious, energetic essence, that permeates and animates our physical world. This essence is known to the Taoist as Qi and know to the yogi as Prana. In Sanskrit this is known as "Brahman Atman" or God-Self.
Scientist know this essence as well and they label it simply as energy. The psychologist will tell you that there is a collective consciousness. This is what the Old Ones called the One Mind. The physicist will tell you that matter is made of one energy. While the spiritual guru will call this Omnipotent, or All-Powerful. Our ancestors taught us that Life is wise, All-Knowing, contained within us, while the biologist will tell you that a single cell, at the moment of conception, contains all the information needed to take a child from birth to death and that these cells communicate with one another. Science will prove to you that all things are connected but they will call it super-position of particles while the ancients knew this as One-Body.
So the ancients said this whole universe is one body, one mind and one Spirit. While scientists say this is one mind, connected by one energy and all seem to be created by consciousness. I can see why the two schools do not agree but I'm confused as to whether that's ignorance or pride.

Your belief is your own. No one else has to have it. They have their own.

Emotional Energy

Be quiet enough to hear and honest enough to listen

We are starting to understand, as a humanity, the concept that everything in this universe is energy. And I also think we are starting to understand just how powerful emotional energy can be as well. Neuro-biologists estimate that 87-95% of all disease is caused by the quality of our "thought-life".
Think about that for a minute.  Many of us are unhappy at our jobs; Gallup polling estimates 99% of us work in fields in which we are not gifted. We are stressed out about money, fearful of the economy. We are at war and many fear we are at a tipping point of global disaster. We have high divorce rates, low self-esteem and we are disconnected from our true Selves, our Gods and our natural way of being. It's not hard to see how emotion could be killing us through stress, cancer, heart disease, diabetes and obesity.
Neuroscience, like ancient Toltec wisdom, says that the remedy to this is very simple. Both teach that mind and body are connected by emotion. Both teach that the way we feel, the way we think and the way we live are all choices. And we make those choices at every moment of every day. What physics has done for the yogi philosophy, biology is doing for Toltec truths. If you seek to find a larger truth, integrate the ancient wisdoms with modern science. If you seek to understand and master this life, seek to understand and master your Self.

Red Cars and Reticulators

Matter follows mind so be mindful about what matters.

Have you ever noticed that if you are thinking about buying a red car, for example, red cars show up everywhere? There is a synchronicity, as Carl Jung described it, a pattern that emerges as a result of the union of mind and matter. Science has since expanded on this concept but there is a much simpler explanation for this occurrence that hold a very powerful truth.  There is a part  of our brains, a reticulator, that identifies these things for us. What you want, what you think about WILL show itself as a result of this built-in mechanism. No matter what!

Did you ever why they say "no matter what"? Maybe it's because

MATTER DOES'T MATTER!

Wii Me

We are reality-producing machines.           Joe Dispenza-What the Bleep

Most of us are familiar with the avatar concept. When we play on the Wii or visit 2nd Life, we move and act through an avatar body. This "body" represents the "real us" while we interact in our imaginary world. It's easy to make the distinction between the real me and the avatar me because the avatar me isn't real and I KNOW it is just a tiny little representation of me.
But is it any more real than the physical body we mistakenly call Self? We understand the concept of Soul animating Self. We hear the sage-philosopher saying this world is an illusion. We have scientific theory about a Holographic universe yet we fail to assimilate, or even grasp the notion,  that we are so much more to us than this body. Much like mistaking the image in a mirror for the "real" thing, we've minimalized our True Divine Essence to a Wii me. Who's got the re-set button?

Perceptions & Purpose

Give yourself permission to be you and watch your path unfold before you.

I always think it's funny when I catch myself worrying about other peoples perceptions of me. What's the old saying? "You wouldn't worry so much about what other people think of you if realized they don't". How many times have you altered your behavior because you were worried about what others would think of you? How many times have you altered the path of your life to please other people? I think the answer to this question is more relevant, and more scary than you may think.
99% of the population works in fields in which they are not gifted. God made them heart cells but they choose to act as brain cells because brain cells make more money, have more security, live better lives, or so they think. If the ancient concept of Oneness is correct, which the conclusion science seems to be coming to, what will happen to the body of the One when liver cells are afraid to be their True Selves because they feel that they're not good enough?
Here's the funny, little key to this whole concept. No one is as hard on you as you! No one judges you so harshly, speaks with such cruelty or holds such unrealistic expectation of you than YOU. If you're worried about what other people will think of you, DON'T. Whatever they may be thinking of you, its not as bad as what you are thinking about yourself! Now, there's a thought worthy of some thinking!
