13th Sign

Preconcieved notions are the locks on the door to wisdom.                                  Merry Browne

     Lots of people are asking me about the 13th constellation, Ophuichus, if it's "real" and what it means to them, so I thought I'd write a little bit about it. 13 constellations is very logical if you think about the fact that there are 13 lunar cylces in a year. Because the sun is in Ophuichus only 19 days out of the year and 12 worked outed so nicely, 13 is unlucky and a host of other factors, this irritating little truth was swept under the the rug. We see note of it as early as the 2nd century and Nostradomas predicted the sign would be revealed around the time of 2012. It's always been there!
      The thing I find so interesting about the whole thing is how easily we we become emeshed in concept and how quick we are to define ourselves by it. This does not mean that astrology holds no truth. Our concept of gravity has changed over the past 100 years yet gravity remains the same. The truth seems to me to be that the gravitational pull of planets does affect us just as full moons make people a little crazy. The LABEL we put on it doesn't change IT at all! It's a perfect example to show us that we are not defined by lables or roles, the past, accomplishments or failures. A rose by any other name...right?

The new definitions are as follows but you can only read it if you promise to REMEMBER WHO YOU REALLY ARE and have FUN!

ARIES = APRIL 19 - MAY 13
TAURUS = MAY 14 - JUNE 19

GEMINI = JUNE 20 - JULY 20
CANCER = JULY 21 - AUG 9
LEO = AUGUST 10 - SEPTEMBER 15
VIRGO = SEPTEMBER 16 - OCTOBER 30
LIBRA = OCTOBER 31 - NOVEMBER 22
SCORPIO = NOVEMBER 23 - NOVEMBER 29
OPHIUCHUS = NOVEMBER 30 - DECEMBER 17
SAGITTARIUS = DECEMBER 18 - JANUARY 18
CAPRICORN = JANUARY 19 - FEBRUARY 15
AQUARIUS = FEBRUARY 16 - MARCH 11 PISCES = MARCH 12 - APRIL 18

If you find yourself falling under the sign of Ophiuchus, like me, the qualities are as follows;

This is the only constellation that depicts a real man, the Egyptian Imhotep, the Christian Joseph and the Sumarian Enki and they should be studied to understand the qualities of this sign.

He holds a serpent, the serpent of healing that is shown on the Caduceus.
