"Wisdom begins in wonder." Socrates
Plato coined the term "anima mundi", or Soul of the World. Just as a human soul animates the physical body, he believed that there is a universal soul, a conscious, energetic essence, that permeates and animates our physical world. This essence is known to the Taoist as Qi and know to the yogi as Prana. In Sanskrit this is known as "Brahman Atman" or God-Self.
Scientist know this essence as well and they label it simply as energy. The psychologist will tell you that there is a collective consciousness. This is what the Old Ones called the One Mind. The physicist will tell you that matter is made of one energy. While the spiritual guru will call this Omnipotent, or All-Powerful. Our ancestors taught us that Life is wise, All-Knowing, contained within us, while the biologist will tell you that a single cell, at the moment of conception, contains all the information needed to take a child from birth to death and that these cells communicate with one another. Science will prove to you that all things are connected but they will call it super-position of particles while the ancients knew this as One-Body.
So the ancients said this whole universe is one body, one mind and one Spirit. While scientists say this is one mind, connected by one energy and all seem to be created by consciousness. I can see why the two schools do not agree but I'm confused as to whether that's ignorance or pride.
Your belief is your own. No one else has to have it. They have their own.
